Hermann Julius Kubatzky was born on 12 December 1878 in Ratzebuhr, in the district of Neustettin in Pomerania. His parents were the master glazier David Kubatzky and his wife Jenny, née Lindenberg.
It is not known when he moved to Berlin. He was married to Rosa Kubatzky, née Arndt. Their son Herbert Julius was born in 1907. The family lived in Tiergarten at Lützowstraße 87.
In 1937, Hermann Julius and Rosa Kubatzky managed to emigrate to Palestine, where their son Herbert Julius had already fled to in 1934. Rosa Kubatzky died in Haifa in 1944.
Hermann Julius Kubatzky returned to Berlin in the 1950s. He lived there for the last time in the Jewish retirement home in Iranische Straße in
